When the 204M Rover 90 Mechanical production stopped there would have been some painted castings in the pipeline to which the standard non-Mechanical tin base would be fitted and the model packed in a 204 box and sent off to shop where a lucky child would find it.
This is a good example of the Rover 90, usually off-white or grey, here in the metallic blue-green colour of the M edition.
The paintwork is good apart from some paint that someone has added to the roof at some time in the past. The windows are very clean and sound and the wheels and tyres are all good.
The base is clean with minimal surface rust in places.
This is a rare model, missing from most collections and the first I have seen in several years of searching. Hence the price as you may not see another for years.
