A very good example of this model, available for only a short time in 1959, the last of the M models with a friction motor.
This has always been one of my favourites as my dad had a red Countryman version of the Austin A40 with a fully opening rear. I had to buy a two-tone blue 216 and paint it red because the 216M had been discontinued when I started collecting.
This has a working motor, very clean windows and really nice paintwork. There are one or two minor marks but barely noticeable and the bumpers and grille silver paint is excellent. The roof has several marks which show up clearly with the red paint beneath.
The wheels and tyres are good and the base is like new.
It is a nice, all original example.
