Train stations with modern facilities 216M Austin A40 *with original box*

A really nice example of this model, available for only a short time in 1959, the last of the M models with a friction motor.

This has always been one of my favourites as my dad had a red Countryman version of the Austin A40 with a fully opening rear.

This has a working motor, very clean windows and excellent paintwork. There are one or two very minor marks on the raised side strips but barely noticeable and the bumpers and grille silver paint is excellent. The roof has excellent original black paint.

The wheels and tyres are good and the base is unmarked.

It is a very good, all original example, hard to find in this condition and even more hard to find with an original box. This is the correct 'Mechanical' type, complete apart from one main and one inner flap missing at one end. There are signs of wear but it remains solid and colourful. This box is certainly scarcer than the model itself - hence the price.
